We are obsessed with some of our latest finds from market, and we have even more amazing options coming soon! Happy shopping!! xoxo

Fashion Forward

This new look from today’s New Arrivals has me so ready for fall weather. This long poncho might be out of your comfort zone, but this is something you can totally pull off! The cowl neck is comfy and flattering, and the long drape is perfect for all different body types. This is a must have piece that you will be glad you have when you need something easy to throw on that still looks put-together.

Complete the look with some leatherette leggings and olive peep toe heels. Leatherette leggings work well with chunky sweaters, basic tunics, and flannels so you’ll be wearing these a lot. And they’re only $18! These dark olive heels are so girly and fun with the strappy front and side tie detail. I know these would be adorable with some destructed denim too!

Shop the Look: Taupe Cowl Neck Long Poncho $39, Black Leatherette Leggings $18 – more coming soon, Dark Olive Strap/Side Tie Heel $32

Shopping Today’s Launch

Happy Friday #dottiegirls! Have you seen our new arrivals this morning? It feels like fall fashion is finally here, even if the weather hasn’t quite switched over yet. These two are must haves for me – love the color of this Pale Pink Ruffle Blouse and I know I will wear this Suede Trim Fur Vest all winter long, perfect layering piece!

I love how our merchandisers styled these two looks at the Greenwood boutique this morning! For more outfit inspiration be sure to follow our boutique Instagram accounts – Greenwood, Indy, and Fishers!

Striped Style

Whether your style is classic, preppy, edgy, boho, grunge, eclectic, or glamorous you can always work stripes into your wardrobe. Stripes are a great way to incorporate colors and patterns without being too over the top. Instead of a basic solid tee, try this adorable Grey/Black Striped Back Top ($28) or this fun Oatmeal Striped Front Sweatshirt ($42). Both are still super comfortable, but take your look up a notch.

Unlike tweed or houndstooth prints, stripes don’t have a particular season which means you can wear them all year round. This Mocha Striped Top is only $18, and looks great with black denim shorts in the summer or under a tan leather jacket in the winter. Great look for less! The same is true for our Multi Color Striped Open Shoulder Dress ($34) – add some tights and heeled booties and this is a great going out option for cooler months.

Push the envelope a little and try a chunky cropped sweater (this one is on sale for $20!!) or an all over striped look with a deeper neckline. The classic colors in this Striped Dress ($44) make it easy to pair with shoes and accessories. Whatever you decide – you can’t go wrong with stripes!

#WCW – Alex Simpson

Hello Dottie followers! My full name is Alexandria Simpson but I go by Alex! I’m 24 years old and started working for Dottie in 2010. I went to Ball State university and studied fashion merchandising. My position at Dottie is GM of web operations and assistant buyer. I absolutely love everything about my job and all the amazing women I work with!

My favorite thing about working for Dottie is all the fashionable clothes I get to be around everyday. As part of the buying team it’s awesome to see a product before we purchase it, envision it at a photo shoot/on the sales floor, then actually selling it!
  • My dream job when I was 10 was to work in a salon doing hair, make-up and nails… My dad used to tell me he would build me a salon to work in one day!
  • If I won the lottery I would move my entire family to a tropical island and chill out for the rest of my life on the beach.
  • When I’m not at work I like to try new restaurants and go out with friends!
  • I absolutely love cooking so I’ve tried lots of recipes but my favorite right now is a Mexican turkey chili with ground turkey, corn, black beans, tomatoes and lots of spices!
My Favorite Things:
  • Favorite movie: Pretty Woman & All The Fast & The Furious movies (so random I know)
  • Current favorite restaurant(this changes all the time because I love food): The Eagle in downtown Indy… mmmm fried chicken (;
  • Favorite song on the radio is Calvin Harris & Rihanna- This Is What You Came For

Rainy Day Survival

Rain, rain, go away! Wet, cloudy skies make me want to curl up with a good book or binge watch Netflix underneath the covers. Unfortunately, life must go on. Getting dressed to be out and about in inclement weather can be tricky, but we have a few tips for you.

Invest in a versatile jacket with a hood.

You should have at least one, go-to, solid jacket with a hood to grab on the way out the door on a rainy day. Think black, navy, tan, olive, or grey – colors that can go with almost anything and will keep your cute outfit underneath dry. A zip front closure with buttons is sure to protect your work clothes, and drawstrings on the hood will keep your hair as dry as possible.

Stash umbrellas in your car, gym bag, office, etc.

No matter where I am or what I am doing, I never seem to have an umbrella when the rain starts pouring down. Invest in a few small, inexpensive umbrellas from your local pharmacy or discount store to keep in your car, in your gym bag, under your desk at work, etc. It’s also a good idea to keep some plastic grocery bags handy to put the wet umbrella in when you arrive to your destination.

Grab a hoodie.

You’ve forgotten your jacket and can’t find an umbrella anywhere. The next best thing? Grab your favorite hoodie! It might not be completely waterproof or weather resistant, but it can save your curls while you run a few errands.

Make a run for it!

When all else fails…run! There is nothing embarrassing about running through the work parking lot to save that adorable dress of yours from getting wet. I have definitely been that shoeless girl to keep my favorite suede pumps from getting ruined.

Shop the looks: Solid Light Weight Navy Jacket $36, Seamless Ribbed Basic Tank – White $16,  Acid Wash Cut Off Shorts $46, Tan Suede Bootie $32, Black Cut Off Shorts $32, Hunter Green Smocked Crop Top $18, Black Leather/Suede Contract Mini Skirt $42, Flannel Zip Front Hooded Top – Green $46

Fall Fashion: Top to Bottom

We’ve been having some pretty wet weather days around the country this week, and that has left me with zero desire to do my hair in the morning. Luckily, a great hat is the perfect cure for my beauty routine laziness and a bad hair day. I’m a huge fan of baseball hats in the summertime, but leather and suede options make a simple baseball hat a great cold weather accessory. A slouchy beanie is perfect for casual looks and can be worn into the colder, snowier months. That being said, my current favorite for fall are these wide brimmed hats with the braid detail – adorable! Check out the looks below for some inspiration and styling tips. Which look is your favorite?
